Sunday 12 October saw thousands of runners take on the streets of Melbourne, and we were very proud of Glenhuntly Athletic Club’s Haftu Strintzos who ran gallantly to come #1 in a strong field for the men’s half-marathon. Our Run Revive / Run Monash athletes delivered standout performances across the half-marathon and marathon distances. From first-time marathoners to top-10 finishers, the results highlight our squad’s depth, dedication, and team spirit.
Half-marathon highlight
Bennett Alexander – 1:09:20 (net), 3rd M35–39, an outstanding performance, crossing the line to claim a ‘podium’ finish. A brilliant result that caps off an excellent winter season.
Marathon magic
Our marathoners produced outstanding runs.
Chris Winter – 2:32:47 (net), 6th M35–39, a massive PB by 8 minutes and narrowly missing the Guinness World Record (2:30:09) for the fastest marathon by a runner with type 1 diabetes. Incredible effort!

Jorge Gerardo Acosta Montes – 2:47:45 (net), a huge PB for Jorge and a massive step forward in his running journey.
David Kontrobarsky – 2:52:42 (net), a fabulous debut for David.
Brad Wynne – 2:52:43 (net), this is Brad’s debut, marking his first marathon finish. He paced like a pro from start to finish.
Alice Hornby – 3:12:22 (net), F25–29, this was a debut marathon for Alice, too, and what a stellar result for her today.
Scott Howe – 3:33:55 (net), M50–54, that was a negative split for Scott today, marking another fabulous marathon result.
George Tale – 3:45:46 (net), M45–49, George delivered another strong result, just shy of his recent PB set in the Brighton Beach marathon in August.
Robyn Fletcher – 5:11:40 (net) F50–54, flying the flag for Run Revive as a proud Spartan Club member with yet another Melbourne marathon finish under her belt.
Angela Balshaw – 5:36:49 (net) F55–59, a debut marathon for Angela, and she stayed in total control, maintaining a consistent pace throughout to finish in good form.
